About the Safe Trader Scheme 

The Safe Trader Scheme is operated by Lancashire County Council to assist residents of Lancashire to find reputable local traders for:

• Property repairs
• Home improvements
• Gardening services
• Mobility aids
• Other services around the home.

Traders agree to work with Trading Standards to resolve problems should they occur. Businesses on the scheme are monitored using customer feedback.

Information for Business owners

The Safe Trader Scheme is operated by Lancashire County Council Trading Standards Service.

It is not an approval scheme but is a register of businesses in the county that have signed up to the code of practice.

It is promoted by Trading Standards and its partner agencies to help consumers in the county find a reputable trader.

If you are a business that offers good customer service, trades fairly and honestly and is reliable you can apply for membership to Lancashire County Council's Safe Trader Scheme.
