Already Homeless
If you have just become homeless, or are sleeping rough and need advice for getting off the street, there are a number of support services to help you or someone you may know.
Homeless Support
You don't have to be sleeping on the streets to be considered homeless.
You can apply for help even if you have somewhere to live but it's not suitable. For example, if you're staying on a friend's sofa or your home is overcrowded.
You can also apply for help if you've been given a valid section 21 eviction notice which ends within 8 weeks.

Preston City Council may be able to help you find accommodation if you have recently become homeless through the homeless assessment.

How much help you get depends on your circumstances. If you're not a British Citizen, applying for homeless help could affect your right to stay in the UK.

If you're aged 16 to 17 or you've recently been living in care, Lancashire County Council social services maybe able to help you with housing.
Is there any night shelters in Preston?
There are no night shelters for adults rough sleeping in Preston.
There are a number of soup kitchens and 'drop ins' offering free or cheap meals.
