About racial equality and diversity council

Preston and Western Lancashire Racial Equality and Diversity Council provide initial information, advice and general support if you feel you are being discriminated on the grounds of:

  • disability
  • race
  • sex
  • transgender status
  • religion or belief
  • marriage/civil partnership status
  • pregnancy
  • sexual orientation

Where we cannot advice we will refer your case to an agency which is qualified to advice and assist you in the Employment Tribunal and court. (This is a a chargeable service, you won't pay anything in advance but agree a percentage if you are successful by way of winning or any form of settlement.)

You will be supported locally in facilitating contact with the above agency where necessary.

Race Hate and/or Harassment

Provide you with independent and unbiased information, advice and assist you to pursue your complaint if you are being harassed on the basis of your race, religion or nationality. This can be against an individual or public service providers.

Community Relations and Community Cohesion

Experience of over 4 decades in this field and can help public and private sector to promote and enhance community engagement. 

Immigration and related services

Provide basic information and general advice in the field of immigration.  This can be your first point of contact where you will be given information to seek detailed and competent advice from a list of accredited agencies that are either regulated by Law Society or Office of the immigration Service Commissioner (OISC).
