DWP Jobs Portal

The DWP has launched a new jobs portal with an initial 20,000 vacancies.

The portal is available now and features seasonal and temporary roles for jobseekers of all ages throughout the UK, offering them an accessible, one-stop-shop to look for work.

Penwortham CAP Job Club

Penwortham CAP Job club are offering a 10-week employability programme to support individuals back into work, training or volunteering.

The next programme commences on Thursday 1 May and the club meets each Thursday.

The club meet at Penwortham Community Kingsfold Drive. 

Each participant has access to a laptop, WiFi and printer during the morning session.(10am -12 noon) together with a 7-week course and individual coaching.

Spear Preston

Now is the time to sign up or refer them to join us on Spear Preston - a completely free 4-week programme, led by our expert coaches - designed to equip young people with the confidence, motivation, vital skills and overcome whatever challenges they may be facing.

Inspira

Inspira provide a range of employability and training services across Lancashire including careers advice via the National Careers Service, with appointments available by phone or in person.

We also offer fully funded courses in construction (CSCS), forklift licences, SIA courses and a range of other options.

Free Nature and Wellbeing Sessions - Brockholes Nature Reserve, Lancashire Wildlife Trust

Lancashire Wildlife Trust currently offer free, weekly Nature and Wellbeing sessions.

To be eligible, you must be 25 or over, live in Preston City Council's area for council tax, eligible to live and work in the UK and be economically inactive (eg. a stay-at-home parent, full-time carer, living with long-term sickness, student and anyone not currently seeking work).

They are also running weekly Nature and Wellbeing Saturday sessions for 11-24 year olds.

You can refer an individual or an individual can self-refer on the website.

Lancashire Volunteer Partnership

Lancashire Volunteer Partnership (LVP) are passionate about supporting people in need of help and building stronger, more resilient communities that can flourish; and at the heart of this are their volunteers.

Their volunteers can receive a reference after 6 months of volunteering, so if you're planning the next stage in your career, this can really help your application stand out in the crowd.
